Active Learning > Passive Learning (See Study)…

Active Learning > Passive Learning, and I was able to do 300% more of the former with a flipped pedagogy.

I taught Units 2, 3, and 4 in parallel:  both College Algebra, same curriculum, same college, one traditional, one flipped:

Exam 2

Flipped:  average = 125.7 (n = 10)

Traditional:  average = 113.36 (n = 11)

Exam 3

Flipped:  average = 114.75 (n = 8)

Traditional:  average = 117.4 (n = 10)

Exam 4

Flipped:  average = 109.43 (n = 7)

Traditional:  average = 74.1 (n = 10)

Department Final Exam

Flipped:  average = 107.11 (n = 9)

Traditional:  average = 104.64 (n = 11).
